Ice cream Screen Recorder has everything you need for effortless screen capturing and screenshots taking. The program creates screenshots and screen casts, records full screen or selected areas, captures video with audio and microphone, supports scheduled screen recording, and features drawing tools and additional options for controlling the recording. 

The program features several recording modes modes that are Custom area, Full screen, Last area, Area auto detection and Around mouse. Zooming in and out is available during the screen capture.

There is a drawing panel with a number of basic drawing tools like brush, rectangle, oval, arrow, text and step tool. Using these tools, you can comment on the screenshot or video, highlight important information and make notes. Besides, there is a standard text tool with the ability to choose font colour and size. Use the step tool to add numbered markers to the videos or screenshots. 

The program supports multiple additional options such as audio recording, particularly, it is capable of recording system sounds and microphone, setting minimum disk space and max file sizes, hiding desktop icons, showing or hiding mouse cursor, showing countdown before recording, disabling screen saver, highlighting mouse cursor and even more. 

Videos are saved in WebM, MP4 or MKV format. Screenshots can be saved as images in JPG or PNG format (customised in Settings), URL, or copied to clipboard. 

User may add web-camera window of custom size and location within the selected recording area.

Uploading of user watermark along with setting of its opacity level and position in the video is available. 

Ice cream Screen Recorder supports recording scheduled tasks, all you need to do is set the time for the start and stop and the program will record video within selected area for you at the needed time. Note that the screen savers and Windows sleep mode will be blocked automatically.

What is IMO?

IMO is a very clean and easy to use instant messaging client which allows you to talk with your friends on MSN, Skype, Yahoo, G-Talk, Facebook, AIM/ICQ, Jabber VKontakte, Myspace, Hyves and steam accounts all from the same interface. You can use the web based version of IMO from any computer by visiting the https://imo.im/. This makes it really convenient as you can log in from any computer, you don’t even have to create an IMO account, although doing so will save your linked account information making it a simple task to access all your chats.

IMO has an app available for android and ios, I will only be talking about the android app, since I have not used the ios version.

Pros:

Clean and easy to use environment, can store your account details on your phone for easy login.

Automatic sign in available if you want it.

Multiple chats at one time, from multiple chat clients. (ie: msn, facebook and skype chats all going simultaneously)

IMO also offers group chats (if available for that specific chat client, ie msn and skype allow group chats). Photo sharing is also available in group chats.

Option to save, browse and search chat history.

You can share photos, audio and other files over the available chat clients which permit it.

IMO also lets you send voice IMs (once again on the chat clients which permit it). So you can record a short message on your microphone and send it instead of having to type it out.

IMO uses android smilies in its conversations, and everyone loves smilies!

Cons:

IMO uses a fair amount of battery, which I cannot compare to other chat clients, but it is definitely something which could be improved upon.

Some problems exist if you are signed into a particular chat account at more than one place. IMO doesn’t seem to handle this too well and sometimes a particular message may not be sent or received correctly.

There is also a problem where you may receive a certain message multiple times, even though it has only been sent once. This may be caused by poor internet signal and interruptions to the connection though.

The last annoying thing is occasionally when typing a message you won’t be able to see what you are typing, this can be annoying but I have found a simple solution for the time being. All you need to do is exit that chat tab and go back into it again.
